Vestry
The Vestry is the governing board of the church, overseeing fiscal management, making decisions about how time, talent and treasure can be most wisely used, and, together with the priest, help form the vision for the church’s future. There are two wardens, currently Ginger Webb and Allen Whitaker. Vestry members may also serve on various committees, such as Property or Finance.
Ginger Webb, Co-Warden
Who I Am: A hospice social worker by day, by night one would most likely find me at church, at Arlington Friends of the Drama, or writing at the computer.
Why I come to COS: The community of inquiring, caring people.
Allen Whitaker, Co-Warden
Who I Am:I have had many challenges and some difficulties because that’s how life is, but I would not trade one second of it for anything. I do think life is a gift, and I’m sure grateful for mine.
Why I come to COS: I was drawn by the welcome and stayed because of the community.
Kevin Ward, Treasurer
Who I Am: I‘m a scientist in the biotech industry, currently serving as COS treasurer; originally from Hershey, PA.
Why I come to COS: Because I feel a strong sense of community here, one where I can make a contribution.
Kate Schell, Clerk
Who I Am: I work with software, read a lot, and wish I were healthy enough to go dancing five nights a week.
Why I come to COS: I came to COS because someone introduced me to the Rev. Harding. I returned to COS because it‘s a good community.
